Why Use This Calculator?
Smart traders plan ahead - here's how our calculator gives you an unfair advantage
Know Before You Buy
Before purchasing an expensive prop firm challenge, see if your current trading strategy can realistically pass. Input your actual win rate and risk-reward ratio to get honest projections. If the calculator shows 200+ days to pass or sub-30% probability, you'll save money by improving your strategy first.
Optimize Your Risk Settings
Experiment with different risk per trade percentages to find the sweet spot. Taking 0.5% risk might require 40 days to pass, while 1.5% risk gets you there in 15 days but increases daily loss risk. The calculator shows you the tradeoffs so you can make informed decisions.
Understand Phase Resets
Many traders are confused when Phase 2 starts at the original balance. Our calculator clearly shows that Phase 1 profits are withdrawn and Phase 2 resets to your starting account size. You'll see exactly how much you need to profit in each phase and what your final funded account size will be.
Validate Your Trading Edge
The expectancy calculator reveals if you actually have a profitable edge. If your win rate and risk-reward ratio produce negative or near-zero expectancy, you'll fail eventually no matter how disciplined you are. See your exact profit per trade and daily earnings potential in dollar terms.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the challenge calculator estimate time to pass?
The calculator uses your win rate, risk-reward ratio, trades per day, and risk per trade to calculate your expected daily profit. It then divides your profit targets by this daily expectation to estimate how many days you'll need for Phase 1 and Phase 2, while ensuring you meet minimum trading day requirements.
What happens to my balance between Phase 1 and Phase 2?
After passing Phase 1, your profit is withdrawn and Phase 2 starts with your original account balance reset. For example, if you start with $10,000 and make $800 in Phase 1, that $800 is taken as profit and Phase 2 begins again at $10,000. This is standard for most prop firms.
How is the probability of passing calculated?
The calculator uses binomial probability distribution based on your win rate and the number of winning trades needed to reach your profit target. It accounts for the total number of trades you'll take and calculates the likelihood of achieving enough wins to meet your Phase 1 target.
What is trading expectancy and why does it matter?
Expectancy is your average profit per trade, calculated as (Win Rate × Reward) - (Loss Rate × Risk). A positive expectancy means you profit over time. The calculator shows your expectancy per trade and daily average profit, helping you understand if your strategy can realistically pass the challenge.
Can I use this for any prop firm challenge?
Yes! The calculator works with FTMO, The5ers, Funding Pips, MyForexFunds, and any prop firm. Simply input your specific challenge rules: account size, Phase 1 and Phase 2 targets, daily drawdown limit, maximum drawdown, and minimum trading days. All values are fully customizable.
What size master account do I get after passing?
After successfully passing both Phase 1 and Phase 2, you receive a master funded account equal to your original account size. For example, if you pass a $10,000 challenge, your funded account will be $10,000. The calculator displays this clearly after showing your Phase 2 results.
